Why We Verify
As a licensed gaming operator, V.Vegas is legally required to conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) checks on all players. This is not a choice β it is a regulatory obligation under our CuraΓ§ao gaming licence and applicable AML legislation. KYC verification serves several purposes:
- Confirming that you are who you claim to be
- Ensuring you have reached the legal minimum age for gambling (18+)
- Preventing fraud and identity theft
- Complying with AML regulations
- Protecting your account from unauthorised access
Identity Verification
For identity verification, we ask you to provide one of the following documents: a valid passport (photo page), a government-issued ID (both sides), or a government-issued driver's licence (both sides). The document must meet all of the following criteria:
- Issued by a recognised authority
- In colour β black-and-white copies are not accepted
- Clearly legible with no obscured elements
- Valid at the time of submission
- Contains full name and date of birth
- Contains a clear photograph
Documents are verified within 24 hours of submission. You will receive an email confirmation upon successful identity verification.
Proof of Address
The document used to verify your residential address must have been issued within the last 3 months. Accepted documents include:
- Bank statement (showing name, address, and account details)
- Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, or broadband)
- Official government correspondence (tax assessment, letter from a government agency, or similar)
- Property tax notice or equivalent
- Lease agreement signed within the last 3 months
The document must clearly show your full name and current residential address. P.O. Box addresses are not accepted.
Payment Method Verification
To prevent fraud and ensure withdrawals are made only to legitimate accounts, we verify all payment methods used.
Credit and Debit Cards
Photo of the card showing the cardholder's name and the last 4 digits of the card number. The middle 8 digits must be covered or redacted. Both sides of the card may be required.
E-Wallets (Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity, and others)
Screenshot of the e-wallet account showing the registered name and email address. The account must be registered in your name.
Bank Transfers
A recent bank statement (from the last 3 months) showing the account number or transit/institution number, the account holder's name, and the name of the bank.
Source of Funds
For players whose cumulative deposits exceed CA$10,000, or who request a single withdrawal of more than CA$5,000, we are required to verify the origin of their funds. Accepted documentation includes:
- Recent pay stubs (from the last 3 months)
- Employment contract or service agreement
- Company financial statements or business account statements
- Tax assessment or income tax return
- Documents evidencing the sale of property or assets
- Proof of inheritance
- Investment or retirement account statements
This is a regulatory requirement and does not imply any suspicion of wrongdoing. All source-of-funds documentation is treated with complete confidentiality.
Verification Timeline
Standard KYC covers identity and address verification and is completed for most players within 24 hours. Cases requiring Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) with additional documentation may take up to 72 hours. Withdrawals are held until verification is complete. We process withdrawals promptly upon successful verification.
Data Security & Privacy
The security of your personal data and documents is our highest priority. All submitted documents will be:
- Encrypted with AES-256 encryption during transmission and storage
- Stored on ISO 27001-certified servers
- Accessible only to authorised members of our compliance team
- Never shared with third parties except where required by law
Documents are retained for a minimum of 5 years as required by AML regulations. Following account closure, players may request deletion of their data, subject to mandatory retention periods.
Enhanced Due Diligence
Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) is applied to players identified as higher risk. EDD may be triggered by:
- Identification of a player as a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) or a close associate of a PEP
- Deposits or withdrawals involving high-risk jurisdictions
- Transaction patterns inconsistent with declared income or employment
- Large or frequent transactions without an apparent economic rationale
- Discrepancies between declared and verified information
EDD requires additional documentation and may include a video verification step. Approval from senior compliance management is required to continue the business relationship under EDD. Failure to provide the required EDD documentation will result in account restriction.
Refusal of Service
V.Vegas reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or permanently close a player's account if:
- The player is unable to provide satisfactory verification documentation
- Submitted documents raise doubts about their authenticity or appear to have been altered
- The source of funds cannot be established to our satisfaction
- The player is located in or is a resident of a restricted jurisdiction
- Suspicious activity is detected on the account
Any funds held in a restricted or closed account will be returned to the player via the original payment method once the AML review is complete, unless legal obligations require otherwise.
